Our Story
Four generations of marine machining and fabrication on the Louisiana Gulf Coast.
Built on the Bayou
E.J. Fields Machine Works was founded in 1934 by E.J. Fields and continued by his son, "Red" Fields, before being purchased in 1959 by Marian and Richard Romaire Sr.
For 43 years, Richard Sr. and his brother Ferris Romaire grew the business into a multi-division operation. In 1995, after 25 years of working his way up — machinist, shop foreman, then general manager — Richard Romaire Jr. became president.
Today, with 30 skilled workers and over 50,000 square feet of equipped workspace, we remain the area's premier machine shop and fabrication facility — and we keep growing in size and capability to serve our customers' evolving needs.
